The Alien Acoustic bass sound can be classified between E and double bass. It allows a variety of expressive possibilities and expands the sonic palette immensely. The unusual design of the cutaway, the asymmetric soundhole also contribute to the uniqueness and the warm tones of this instrument. The tops and bottoms of the aliens are laminated to increase the stability. The design makes the bass great for stage use. Even without amplification, the sound of the alien is concise, dynamic and expressive, with a gruff tone and rich punch over the entire frequency range of the instrument. It is equipped with the Fishman Prefix Plus%u2122 system. There are many opportunities available to modulate the differentiated sound variable such as notch filter, phase reverse switch as well as controls for bass, treble, brilliance and semi-parametric contour working. A ''low battery'' indicator informs the player about a loss of capacity of the 9-volt power supply. The Alien Acoustic Bass is available as righthanded version (fretted and fretless) and as a lefthanded version (fretted & fretless).
